The Joy of a Spring Day

Enjoying a delightful Easter Sunday afternoon about 4:30 pm on April 16, 2017. Sitting on the front porch with my friend Helen from New York City in Phillipsburg, NJ, just around the corner from Lopatcong elementary school. This a beautiful day with the sun shining bright in the sky with a slight breeze blowing, then an occasional rain coming through the clouds every now and then. As we sat on the porch and watch the children play in the yard, I sat admiring the trees starting to bloom. With no leaves on the trees yet they were the most beautiful trees you have seen. The birds chirping so load yet pleasing to the ear. One of the children found a birds nest right below the tree in the grass with a bird egg. I advise them the nest fell out of the tree and Its mother must have left it when it fell from the tree.

All the children running around look for eggs hid all around the house, listening to the laughter and finding myself laughing at them. They were told that some the sparkled eggs had special things in them, so all you could hear is the shouting I find a sparkle egg and around back you hear another child yelling I found one. They all filled with laugher, we found ourselves laughing as well. Then watch the little boys be boys and climb the bear tree. Oh, the joy of just sitting and listen to the excitement of the children on this spring day. It was the  most peaceful day I have sent in a long time. Just sitting and enjoying nature is so rewarding.

Campus Resources

The campus resources I use was the learning center and the library. Both I found to be very helpful and very interesting. I meet with a learning center tutor and her name was Cherise Fung., who was very pleasant and patience with me.  I schedule a half hour not knowing that I could have allotted an hour or even need ed my time, that half hour went by so fast  so i suggest that you make sure to schedule an hour.  I had to schedule another meeting and this time I for sure made it for an hour. I really appreciate the school for having this service for someone like, who is a first-year student and knowing very little about writing a paper. I also advise the use of the online tutor, the tutor was very fast with her responses, and her feedback was very helpful.
I also had a visit with the librarian and her name was Margaret Murry who I learned a lot from, like how to use the resources in the library or online. There are different ways to research a paper and different materials I could use in the library, like the reference corner, or the media tower; there was magazines, blog post, newspaper articles, all kinds of book, and then there was the online resources for research and credential source I can use to back up almost any topic I decide to use. Margaret was very detail on how to use the online library and how start your research on any given topic.
Margaret had a well of knowledge about the library. She was very helpful with each student and took the time to answer any question that you may have. The information I received at the library was very much helpful with researching for my Speech Communication class and English class when trying to find creditable resources.
I look forward to using these two service for many days ahead and suggest all students to take advantage of these resources. I has made my experience at Northampton Community college a success.

My Family at Home

My home is where family come together, we assemble on a Sunday for fellowship and dinner after church. Gathered together are sisters, cousins and friends old and new, all coming together to laugh play games and tell stories.  At my house you will find people in just about every room. a seat where you can, some on chairs, while some gather on the floor, some around the kitchen table or in the living room. it is full of hungry children and adults.

Mom or to some I’m called Mema, you will find me in the kitchen over the stove preparing a hardy meal for my large clan.  You would think it was thanksgiving at my house.  The kitchen will have an aromas of fresh greens with smoked turkey wings, bread in the oven or a cake in the oven for dessert The children are running in and out of the house shouting at one another. The adult is sitting around reminiscing. The game or a movie playing on the television as well.

Once Dinner is ready we would all gather around the dining room table and have grandpa would bless the food. Everybody loves it when grandpa bless the food, because it will be definite be short, after dinner we all gather in the living room and play games, or some would just lounge around and some sleep.

In this house you will find love, laughter
and enjoyment. Always looking forward to the next time we come together again.

My Education Memory

My education knowledge was very limited due to dropping out of school in the 9th grade.  I have only a few memories of elementary school, middle school or high school.

My best memory was elementary school science teacher who made science class fun and worth remembering. There was also a middle school shop teacher, and he gave a an interest in working with creating thing of wood and ceramic with my hands.

Me enrolling in Northampton Community College will be the start of a real memory of education and literacy, and so far I am enjoying every moment. I am learning some valuable information so far in this class, how to write stories about my fellow classmate, create a blogs and how to put my own thoughts down on paper.  This I had no remembrance of.   So this class is giving me a whole new look at education and literacy that I have never seen before.

Kyle the Hockey Player

I meet this wonderful young man name Kyle
Wambole in my English 101 class this semester, must I add he is very handsome too; he will make some very lucky lady happy.

Kyle grew up in Pennsylvania, he had one brother and his name Clint who is three years older than me. Clint was his hero, they became best friends. He would follow Clint everywhere. He the person that introduced him to hockey. Hockey was the sport that changed his life forever.

Kyle's brother Clint was a hockey player and I want to be just like him, he began to teach him how to play hockey and fell in love with the sport. He would dream about hockey and there began his passion and desire to become a professional hockey player. He would play with my big brother and his friends and was very good at it too.

His love of hockey took him too many states. Kyle had a game in Wyoming and there is where his dream came to a halt and the dream of becoming a professional hockey player had ended. He fell and his knee was hurt, not able to get up. At that moment he knew it was over. Hoping he was wrong, but  in his heart I knew it so. He have seen so many other games and player; he knew my outcome. He was devastated.  This ended his dream of becoming a professional hockey player.

Kyle had now had to rethink his life and where or what he was going to do.  His goals had to be changed. There where lots of encouragement from family and friends, so after some thought he decided that he would be become an accountant. So he enrolled in Northampton Community College. And  hope to transfer to Cedar Crest or Kutztown University someday and get his degree in accounting.  Kyle loved number and solving problems.

But please know that his love for hockey is still there, and he still played with his brother and friends.  I also enjoy going to games. Just watching the games brings he satisfaction.

How to Survive a Plague Blog Post Response

Effective protest are use to get a point of belief across to the government. and is it effective, while sometimes are not as effective.

People protect because of social issues, beliefs or policial issues.

Yes they could have used another method to get what they wanted or needed. They could have taken their issue before the government before the streets.

I found most protesting is birth out of angry. And then we want change, and the government to do something.
